Biological Control of the Raspberry Eriophyoid Mite Phyllocoptes gracilis Using Entomopathogenic Fungi

چکیده
There is an urgent need to develop biological control methods against the eriophyoid mite, Phyllocoptes gracilis, which causes significant losses in organic raspberry production Europe. The use of entomopathogenic fungi (EF) a sustainable alternative conventional chemical pesticides, reducing risks pesticide resistance and other negative environmental impacts agriculture. objective this study was assess pathogenicity three strains EF, two Beauveria bassiana one Metarhizium anisopliae, on P. gracilis under laboratory conditions. Fungal spore suspensions (1 × 107 spores per mL) were sprayed detached leaves infested with gracilis. Treated mites kept controlled conditions (25 ± 3 °C, 72 10% relative humidity photoperiod 16:8 (light/dark)) mite mortality assessed three, five seven days after inoculation. At all measurement points (days inoculation), highest for B. strain BB 1.1 M. anisopliae MA 10.1. Our data demonstrate that EFs are promising candidates development agents crops.

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis and biological control of Ixodes ricinus using entomopathogenic fungi
In the present study, pathogenicity of four native strains of Entomopathogenic fungus; Metarhizium anisopliae, was studied against adult stage of Ixodes ricinus. For this purpose a total number of 180 adult ticks were examined in triplicate. Thirty ticks for each strain and negative and positive controls were immersed in 2.4×107 fungal conidia/ml in vitro. Samples were incubated in separate Pet...

متن کاملEntomopathogenic fungi for mosquito control: A review
Fungal diseases in insects are common and widespread and can decimate their populations in spectacular epizootics. Virtually all insect orders are susceptible to fungal diseases, including Dipterans. Fungal pathogens such as Lagenidium, Coelomomyces and Culicinomyces are known to affect mosquito populations, and have been studied extensively. There are, however, many other fungi that infect and...

BACKGROUND Chemical control method using different acaricides as spray, dipping solution or pour-on is routinely used for controlling ticks. Biological control agents are favorable due to their safety for animals and environment. Entomopathogenic fungi such as Beauveria bassiana are well known for controlling ticks.
